Human skele­tal remains were unearthed dur­ing con­struc­tion at an apart­ment com­plex in Wood­bury, Long Island on Mon­day. The dis­cov­ery at Eagle Rock Apart­ments on 92 Fairhaven Boule­vard sparked an inves­ti­ga­tion by the Nas­sau Coun­ty Police.

The con­struc­tion crew alert­ed author­i­ties after uncov­er­ing the remains around 4 p.m. While an Eagle Rock Apart­ments rep­re­sen­ta­tive ini­tial­ly told News 12 Long Island the bones were “clear­ly over 100 years old,” they declined fur­ther com­ment when con­tact­ed by The New York Post.

The remains were trans­port­ed to the med­ical exam­in­er for exam­i­na­tion to deter­mine age, ori­gin, and any oth­er details that could aid the ongo­ing investigation.
