Teen protester Nika Shakarami’s death sparked outrage in Iran, and now journalists are facing charges for reporting the truth.

The BBC published an investigation suggesting security forces killed Nika, not suicide as claimed by officials.

Iran’s government slammed the report as “fake” and went after journalists who shared it.

Two journalists, Mohammad Parsi and Marzieh Mahmoodi, were summoned for “disrupting society.”

This crackdown on free speech aims to silence dissent about Nika’s death.
