Pedro Argote, 49, is wanted for questioning in the assassination of Judge Andrew Wilkinson, who was gunned down outside his home.

Court records reveal Wilkinson, 52, presided over Argote’s recent divorce proceedings. Though motive remains unclear, authorities name Argote a person of interest in the fatal shooting of the Maryland jurist.

Standing at 5′7″ and weighing 130 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, Argote is thought to be driving a silver 2009 Mercedes with Maryland tags. The public is urged not to approach him. State police now protect other local judges pending the investigation.

Wilkinson was rushed to the hospital after the 8pm attack but died from his wounds. The sheriff provides updates at an 11am conference. Precautionary measures have been taken to safeguard the judiciary until Argote, suspected of the judge’s murder, is apprehended.
