In a chilling incident, a 24-year-old Marine Corps recruiter named Ricardo Perez Castillo broke into a stranger’s home in Plainfield Charter Township, Michigan, and stabbed an 11-year-old girl who was attending a sleepover.

The crime has been described as “as horrific as it gets” by the presiding judge.

According to the detailed report, Castillo broke into the home around 3 AM on a Saturday morning. The homeowner found the intruder in the kitchen and held him at gunpoint until the police arrived.

Surveillance footage showed Castillo entering the home, removing his clothes, and then making his way upstairs to the girl’s room.

Castillo later confessed to detectives that he had planned to “break into the house and kill the entire family” and then “have sex with the victim’s dead body.” The young girl suffered multiple stab wounds and required surgery, though her current condition is unknown.

The suspect’s heinous actions are believed to be a random attack, with no known connection between Castillo and the victims. He has been charged with a litany of serious offenses, including assault with intent to murder, first-degree home invasion, and assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office has urged residents to be vigilant and take safety precautions, even in seemingly secure neighborhoods.

This horrific incident has left the community in a “fear zone” and serves as a sobering reminder of the need for heightened awareness and prevention measures.
