This heartbreaking case in Mississippi has brought the brutality of human trafficking to light. A 4‑year-old girl was found dead, and her 6‑year-old sister was rescued in Jackson. The girls’ mother, Callie Burnett (35), was discovered murdered in southern Louisiana a day prior.

Authorities suspect human trafficking due to the presence of small animal cages at the scene in Jackson. The surviving sister, Jalie Brunett (6), was found unharmed inside a car near a wooded area. Sadly, her younger sister Erin’s body was located nearby.

“The crime scene suggests potential human trafficking activity,” said Joseph Wade of the Jackson Police Department. “The presence of small cages raises serious concerns.”

The prime suspect is Daniel Callihan, Callie Burnett’s boyfriend. A bystander reported his suspicious behavior, leading police to the girls’ location. While authorities haven’t questioned Callihan yet, he is suspected in Callie Burnett’s murder.

This tragedy underscores the devastating impact of human trafficking and the need for heightened awareness and prevention measures. As the investigation unfolds, authorities aim to uncover the full scope of the crimes and bring justice to the victims and their family.
