A beloved member of the Myrtle Beach community, Sandra Schultz-Peters, a 66-year-old nurse, was tragically killed on June 17th, 2024, after being struck by a Horry County Police Department vehicle while enjoying a day at Nash Beach.

Witnesses reported a crowded beach at the time of the incident and described a horrifying scene with screams erupting as the vehicle struck Schultz-Peters. Bystanders rushed to help, but sadly, Schultz-Peters succumbed to her injuries at a nearby hospital.

Schultz-Peters was known for her daily walks on the beach with her dogs, a routine that made her a familiar and cherished member of the community.

Her brother, David Schultz, expressed his profound grief, describing her as “probably the best person I ever had in my life.”
