In a shocking twist, a New Jersey father accused of abusing his 6‑year-old son to death allegedly abandoned the boy in the hospital room where strangers fought to save his life. Christopher Gregor, 31, is standing trial for the 2021 murder of his son Corey Micciolo, who died from alleged chronic abuse.
Testimony from a nurse who tried to save Corey revealed that Gregor left the hospital room around 9 minutes before his son passed away, never to return. “We were the only ones with him,” the nurse, Lindsey Carnevale, told the court.
Prosecutors painted a disturbing picture of Gregor’s alleged abuse, including forcing Corey to run on a treadmill until he collapsed. Evidence showed Gregor had a history of mistreating the boy, with the child often returning home with bruises and injuries.
Gregor’s phone searches after Corey’s death also raised suspicion, as he looked up topics like being traced and internal bleeding. He is also accused of deleting thousands of text messages with the boy’s mother, Breanna Micciolo, with whom he was locked in a custody dispute.
The tragic case has sparked outrage, with Corey’s mother sharing harrowing images of her son’s injuries on social media and claiming child protective services ignored her pleas for help. Gregor faces 30 years to life in prison if convicted of murder.
