A married lesbian couple killed and dismembered in garbage bags.

A mar­ried les­bian cou­ple, Nohemí Med­i­na Martínez and Yulizsa Ramírez from Texas, USA, were tor­tured and shot before their bod­ies were dis­mem­bered and left in two trash bags after vis­it­ing their fam­i­lies in Mexico.

Accord­ing to the Chi­huahua state attor­ney gen­er­al’s office, the bags con­tain­ing the bod­ies of the two women, 28, were found about 17 miles apart on a stretch of the Juárez-El Por­venir road. Sun­day morn­ing Jan­u­ary 16 in the streets of the Mex­i­can bor­der town of Ciu­dad Juárez.

One of the bod­ies was in the San Agustín neigh­bor­hood and the oth­er was found at the entrance to the vil­lage of Jesus Car­ran­za in what police con­sid­er a homo­pho­bic crime.

Mex­i­can news­pa­per El Diario report­ed that they were vis­it­ing fam­i­ly mem­bers in Ciu­dad Juárez, but fam­i­ly mem­bers last saw the cou­ple on Saturday.

It’s still unclear how long the cou­ple, who mar­ried in 2021 and were moth­ers of three, lived in Mexico.

Karen Arvi­zo, direc­tor of the Chi­huahua Com­mit­tee for Sex­u­al Diver­si­ty, said; “The con­cern is that the author­i­ties will do absolute­ly noth­ing,” reports the Dai­ly Mail.

“We feel like we’re treat­ed like sec­ond-class cit­i­zens and real­ly don’t matter.”

On Mon­day, author­i­ties in Ciu­dad Juárez found the bod­ies of two oth­er women at an inter­sec­tion in the Patria-Zaragoza neigh­bor­hood. They had also been tor­tured and shot. They have not been identified.

It is not known if the four mur­ders are con­nect­ed. The inves­ti­ga­tion is ongoing.
