Daniel Sal­va­tore, a father of three from Boon­ton, New Jer­sey, is grate­ful to be alive after a hor­ri­fy­ing ran­dom attack at the Port Author­i­ty Bus Ter­mi­nal in New York City. 

While on his way to work as a car­pen­ter, Sal­va­tore was sud­den­ly stabbed and slashed eight times in the neck and arm by an unknown assailant.

The unpro­voked assault result­ed in Sal­va­tore requir­ing 46 stitch­es to treat his wounds. Describ­ing the ter­ri­fy­ing ordeal, the New Jer­sey dad recount­ed see­ing his attack­er’s face just before the knife was plunged into his neck.

Despite the sever­i­ty of the injuries, he expressed grat­i­tude for hav­ing sur­vived the attack.

This inci­dent rais­es con­cerns about the safe­ty of com­muters at trans­porta­tion hubs like the Port Author­i­ty Bus Ter­mi­nal and high­lights the impor­tance of increased secu­ri­ty mea­sures to pre­vent such ran­dom acts of violence. 

As Sal­va­tore recov­ers from his injuries, the search for his attack­er con­tin­ues, and author­i­ties are urg­ing any­one with infor­ma­tion to come forward.
