A gunman’s rampage through two North Las Vegas apartment complexes on Monday night left five people dead and a 13-year-old girl critically injured.
The first incident occurred shortly after 10 pm at one apartment, where officers discovered two deceased women, one in her 40s and another in her 50s. A critically wounded teenage girl was also found and transported to the hospital.
At a nearby apartment complex, authorities discovered three more victims — two women and one man, all in their 20s — who had been fatally shot.
Police identified the suspect as 57-year-old Erick Adams and launched a manhunt. After locating him armed with a gun the following morning, Adams fled on foot and died by suicide during police apprehension.
The motive behind the shootings remains under investigation. This tragic event has deeply impacted the North Las Vegas community, renewing calls for solutions to address gun violence in the United States.
