Michael Meyden, the Oregon man facing charges for allegedly drugging his 12-year-old daughter’s friends with benzodiazepine-laced smoothies during a sleepover, reportedly displayed a disturbing interest in his coworkers’ children.
According to colleagues, Meyden, a 57-year-old digital communications professional, frequently inquired about their kids and engaged in unsettling behavior, such as “liking” Facebook pictures of their children.
A former coworker described Meyden’s interest in her teenage daughter as a “terrifying obsession,” noting that he would “keep track” of her daughter’s whereabouts.
As the case against Meyden unfolds, his history of unsettling behavior is raising concerns about the potential warning signs that may have been missed.
The ongoing investigation serves as a chilling reminder of the importance of recognizing and addressing predatory behavior to protect children from harm.
