A plane passenger recently shared her frustration on Reddit after paying extra for a window seat, only to discover that she was seated next to a solid panel.

The unnamed traveler expressed her disappointment by sharing a photo of her airline seat, revealing the lack of a view. She had booked a window seat on a Delta flight but found herself seated in front of the exit row, where passengers typically enjoy both a window and extra legroom.

Though she wasn’t concerned about legroom due to her height, the absence of a window left her mildly frustrated.

Unfortunately, as the flight was fully booked, there were no alternative seat options available. While the flight attendants offered to put her on a new flight, she declined as she was traveling with family. Though disappointed, she chose not to make a fuss, considering the situation only mildly infuriating.

Many Reddit users empathized with the passenger’s experience, sharing their own similar encounters. Some even received compensation from the airline for their inconvenience.

Others advised consulting a seat map before booking to avoid such incidents, as certain aircraft configurations may sacrifice a window seat for other necessities, such as AC ducts or emergency exits.

One commenter pointed out that Delta does not charge for window seats directly; instead, they charge extra for Comfort+ and exit row seats, which offer additional legroom. Therefore, the passenger may have paid more for the legroom rather than the window itself.
