Long Island authorities have indicted Rex Heuermann, the prime suspect in the Gilgo Beach murders, on an additional murder charge. The 60-year-old is expected to be arraigned this week in Riverhead, New York.

Details on the specific new charge haven’t been released, but Newsday reports it relates to another victim.

This comes after a recent search of Heuermann’s home, the second since his 2023 arrest for the murders of the “Gilgo Four” — Amber Lynn Costello, Melissa Barthelemy, Nicole Brainard-Smith, and Megan Waterman.

Despite evidence, the location of the killings remains a mystery. Heuermann is detained at Riverhead Correctional Facility. These developments suggest a wider investigation into Heuermann’s potential involvement in more murders.
