Hor­rif­ic weath­er in south­ern Brazil has caused major dev­as­ta­tion. The death toll in Rio Grande do Sul has climbed to 56, with at least 70 peo­ple still missing.

This extreme rain­fall has trig­gered mas­sive floods, wash­ing away roads and bridges. Land­slides are also a huge dan­ger, and a dam par­tial­ly col­lapsed at a hydro­elec­tric plant. Anoth­er dam is at risk of col­laps­ing too! ⚠️

The cap­i­tal city, Por­to Ale­gre, isn’t safe either. The Guai­ba Riv­er over­flowed its banks, flood­ing streets and forc­ing the air­port to shut down ALL flights. ✈️

The gov­er­nor warned the death toll could climb even high­er, and more rain is expect­ed in the north. If you live in Rio Grande do Sul, stay alert and fol­low offi­cial instruc­tions to stay safe!
