Seattle Airport Hit by Possible Cyberattack, Leading to Flight Delays

A sig­nif­i­cant dis­rup­tion occurred at Seat­tle-Taco­ma Inter­na­tion­al Air­port (SEA) on Sat­ur­day due to a “pos­si­ble cyber­at­tack” that impact­ed the Port of Seat­tle’s inter­net and web systems.

Widespread Flight Delays and Cancellations

The out­age, which began ear­ly Sat­ur­day morn­ing, result­ed in wide­spread flight delays and can­cel­la­tions. As of 8 p.m. ET, FlightAware report­ed that 247 flights had been delayed and six had been can­celed at the airport.

Ongoing Efforts to Restore Operations

The air­port empha­sized that there is cur­rent­ly no esti­mat­ed time for full oper­a­tional recov­ery. How­ev­er, they are active­ly work­ing with author­i­ties and part­ners to min­i­mize dis­rup­tions and assist affect­ed travelers.
