Shooting in Times Square
A 39-year-old man was shot in the leg in the heart of Times Square, New York City, early Tuesday morning.
The gunfire erupted just after 4 a.m. near the intersection of West 42nd Street and 7th Avenue, an area known for its cinemas and other attractions.
Victim Hospitalized
The victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition after sustaining a single gunshot wound to his right leg. Police did not have any information on the victim’s identity or whether he knew the alleged shooters.
Arrests Made
Three teenagers were arrested soon after the shooting incident, according to law enforcement sources. At least one young man was spotted being handcuffed and taken away from the scene by the police.
Investigation Ongoing
Investigators have recovered eight shell casings from the street, but the circumstances leading up to the shooting are still unclear. It is unknown if there was any prior confrontation or if the victim and suspects were acquainted.
