Teacher Carry Bill Up for Vote in Tennessee

Tennessee parents are racing against time to stop a bill that would allow teachers to carry guns in schools. This comes after the horrific Covenant School shooting that left several students dead.

Lawmakers Say More Guns = More Safety

Lawmakers say arming teachers with proper training (40 hours) could prevent future shootings. They point to other states that already allow this.

Parents & Experts Disagree: More Guns = More Danger

Parents who lost children in the shooting strongly oppose the bill. They argue that adding more guns to schools just increases the risk of accidents or misuse.

Security experts also disagree with the 40-hour training requirement. They say this is nowhere near enough compared to the 480 hours school resource officers receive. Training should focus on de-escalation and crisis management, not just shooting.

What Tennesseans Really Want

Parents are pleading with lawmakers to listen to their pleas. They want safer gun laws, not more guns in the hands of educators.

Is This Bill Doomed?

Only time will tell if lawmakers will listen. Stay tuned for updates on the vote!

This is a HUGE issue for TN students and parents. Share this article to spread awareness!
