In a captivating turn of events, a substitute teacher’s alleged sexual escapade with a student has sparked a nationwide manhunt.

Caitlin Thao, a 24-year-old educator at St. Paul City School in Minnesota, is now on the run after being accused of having sex with a 17-year-old student.

The school administration swiftly addressed the matter, informing parents that the reported incident took place after school hours in an empty classroom.

According to the police, the teenage victim revealed the details of their illicit encounter on March 13th, stating that the incident had occurred approximately six weeks earlier.

Thao’s alleged advances did not stop there, as court documents suggest she even invited the student to her home, which he declined.

The teacher’s troubling behavior ultimately led to her resignation in late February, shortly before she was reportedly receiving treatment at a mental health unit in Regions Hospital.

Now, the Ramsey County District Court has issued a nationwide warrant for Thao’s arrest, charging her with third-degree criminal sexual conduct. If convicted, she could face up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $30,000.
