Confrontation Turns Deadly

Daniel Shrewsbury, a 33-year-old Sonic manager in San Antonio, Texas, was allegedly killed by a customer after a confrontation over counterfeit money. The incident occurred on Sunday, just days before Shrewsbury’s 34th birthday.

Suspect Identified but Not Arrested

According to the police, Shrewsbury confronted two female customers at the Sonic drive-through who were allegedly trying to use counterfeit money to purchase food. One of the customers is accused of fatally shooting Shrewsbury, who then retreated into the restaurant before being declared dead at the scene.

A Caring and Hardworking Employee

Shrewsbury’s family described him as a “caring” and “hard-working” individual who was loved by many. His younger brother, Jojo Shrewsbury, said he was a “role model” to him and others. When not working, Shrewsbury enjoyed playing video games.

Emotional Aftermath and Outcry

Shrewsbury’s sister, Jazmin Robinson, took to Facebook to express her grief and outrage, stating that her brother “did not deserve to go like this” and condemning the suspects as “cowards.” A memorial was set up outside the Sonic where the tragic incident occurred.

Ongoing Investigation

The San Antonio Police Department has released photos of the two female customers they believe to be involved in the killing, but no arrests have been made. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Shrewsbury’s death continues.
