YouTube personality Ben Potter, who was known online as the popular content creator Comicstorian, has passed away at the age of 40 following an “unfortunate accident.”

His wife Nathalie Potter made the heartbreaking announcement on social media, stating that her husband had died on June 8th.

Nathalie described Ben as “one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for,” highlighting his loving and genuine nature as a husband, family member, and friend.

She noted that his YouTube channel, which had amassed over 3 million subscribers and featured over 3,900 videos, was “one of his greatest accomplishments.”

Despite the tragedy, Nathalie vowed to carry on Ben’s legacy by continuing to operate his popular Comicstorian channel. She said, “While we all need our time to mourn him, I know he wouldn’t want it to end like this. Ben spent over 10 years spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies.

It was through his love of exciting stories and well written characters that got him started on YouTube. We supported each other on everything we wanted to do and I’m not about to stop now.”

The news of Ben’s passing was met with an outpouring of condolences from fans and fellow content creators.

Many praised his significant contributions to the comic book community, as well as his infectious enthusiasm and warm personality. Actor O’Shea Jackson Jr., writer Jimmy Palmiotti, and voice actress Susan Eisenberg were among those who paid tribute to the late YouTuber.

Nathalie asked for privacy during this difficult time as she navigates the next steps, but assured that she and Ben’s colleagues will work to honor his legacy and continue sharing the great stories he was so passionate about.
