PSG IN DIFFICULTY : Neymar out with ankle injury, before Champions League game

Neymar injured his ankle in the middle of the Paris Saint-Germain-Lille match and was forced to come off.

Neymar scored PSG’s second goal in a 4–3 win over Lille, but in the 51st minute he injured his ankle after contact with Lille’s Benjamin André at the Parc des Princes and had to undergo lengthy treatment. Neymar injured the same ankle at the Qatar World Cup.

PSG are in trouble to advance to the next round after losing 1–0 at home to Bayern Munich in the last 16 of the Champions League on Tuesday. The return leg in Munich is scheduled for March 8th.

PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Chelsea co-owner Todd Bailey met in Paris earlier this week to discuss a potential move for Neymar.

The striker has come under fire for his lack of commitment after French media reported that he took part in a poker tournament and dined at a fast food restaurant after last week’s Champions League exit.

PSG manager Christophe Galtier later defended Neymar, claiming he had spoken to him about the news.
