Real Madrid beats Al Hilal in Club World Cup final preventing them to get €250,000 bonus

Real Madrid beat Al Hilal 5–3 in Moroc­co to win the Club World Cup for the fifth time in their his­to­ry pre­vent­ing the Sau­di side from a €250,000 bonus.

Car­lo Ancelot­ti’s Euro­pean cham­pi­ons took the lead with goals from Vini­cius Junior and Fede Valverde before Mous­sa Mare­ga restored Al Hilal’s edge.

Karim Ben­ze­ma saw the Whites regain the lead before Valverde scored his sec­ond goal of the evening an hour later.

How­ev­er, Vini­cius Junior scored the sec­ond goal of the night to seal the vic­to­ry for the giants in La Liga. Viet scored again but Real Madrid held on.

Real had already won four times, with their lat­est tri­umph on Sat­ur­day night being their first since 2018. He also won three times before the cur­rent com­pe­ti­tion began.

The match against Sau­di Ara­bi­a’s pro­fes­sion­al league cham­pi­ons was one of the favourites, but Ancelot­ti’s team strug­gled with only two wins in the last sev­en games before beat­ing Egyp­t’s Al Ahly in the semi-finals of the tournament.

Real Madrid’s win means Al Hilal side is miss­ing out on a €250,000 prize for a play­er offered by Sau­di bil­lion­aire Al Waleed bin Talal Al Saud.

Brazil’s Fla­men­go advance to the final. Al Saud, the founder of King­dom Hold­ing Com­pa­ny, says he is ready to give each of his play­ers even big­ger bonus­es if they can beat Real Madrid.

Despite los­ing the final, Al Hilal defied expec­ta­tions and reached the final against one of Europe’s most suc­cess­ful teams.

Before defeat­ing Fla­men­go, Ramon Diaz was nom­i­nat­ed by the Asian Foot­ball Con­fed­er­a­tion and defeat­ed Widad Casablan­ca in the sec­ond round.
