The Chicago Sky’s physical play against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever has sparked outrage, with Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy condemning their “brutal treatment” of the WNBA’s No. 1 pick.

In the teams’ second meeting since Chennedy Carter’s hard foul on Clark earlier this month, the Sky continued to target the Fever rookie. Angel Reese smacked Clark in the head, while teammates Dana Evans and Carter combined to foul and manhandle Clark.

Portnoy, a vocal supporter of Clark, took to social media to call out the Sky’s actions, accusing them of “doing Chicago Sky stuff.” The bodycheck from Carter and her lack of remorse had already ignited controversy, with accusations of racism from both sides.

Clark has aimed to stay above the fray, but made clear she did not want her name used for political agendas. She also said she did not need Carter to apologize for the foul, stating “basketball’s competitive” and “sometimes your emotions get the best of you.”

The continued rough treatment of Clark by the Sky has drawn widespread criticism, with fans and pundits condemning the team’s apparent targeting of the WNBA’s rising star. As the rivalry between the two teams intensifies, the focus remains on the on-court actions and the heated off-court reaction.
