Former Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Daniel Muir and his wife have been arrested after their missing 14-year-old son was found safe on July 3, 2024.

Bryson Muir was located “safe and well” when Indiana State Police SWAT teams raided the Muir family home in Logansport, north of Indianapolis.

The teen’s father, Daniel Muir, is facing a domestic battery charge in addition to obstruction of justice charges. Bryson’s grandmother had alerted police that the 14-year-old had a swollen black eye and alleged abuse by his dad.

The boy was last seen with his mother as she drove him away from the grandmother’s home in Cleveland, Ohio. Police tracked down Kristin Muir’s car soon after, but Bryson was nowhere to be found.

Authorities issued a “Silver Alert” last Friday after the Muirs failed to bring Bryson to meet with detectives as promised.

The Muir family lives on land owned by the Straitway Truth Ministries, a religious sect based in Tennessee that some have described as a cult. Bryson’s grandmother alleged the teen may have been “brainwashed” by his parents.

Both Daniel and Kristin Muir were arrested when the SWAT team raided their home and Bryson was found safe.
