TotÂtenÂham manÂagÂer AntoÂnio ConÂte has ruled his club out of conÂtention for the PreÂmier League title after losÂing to ManÂchesÂter United.
Spurs beat UnitÂed 2â0 at Old TrafÂford on WednesÂday with goals from Fred and Bruno Fernandes.
ConÂte has admitÂted that North LonÂdonâs playÂers are âstrugÂglingâ in top-levÂel PreÂmier League games, and this seaÂsonâs results speak for themselves.
TotÂtenÂham are yet to beat a top-four team after drawÂing 2â2 with Chelsea in August and losÂing 3â1 to rivals ArseÂnal earÂliÂer this month.
As a result, the ItalÂian manÂagÂer believes his team will not chalÂlenge for the PreÂmier League title.
The forÂmer Chelsea boss insists Spurs have improved a lot since takÂing over in NovemÂber but still âneeds timeâ.
âEvery time we play at a high levÂel, we strugÂgle,â ConÂte said.
âWe strugÂgled against Chelsea and Chelsea domÂiÂnatÂed the game.
âWe lost against ArseÂnal, and we lost against UnitÂed today (WednesÂday).
âSomeÂtimes I hear that we (TotÂtenÂham) are in the title race, but I think we need time.
âYou canât go from No. 9 to next yearâs title conÂtender in just 10 or 11 months.â
TotÂtenÂham now face a tough PreÂmier League match at home to NewÂcasÂtle on Sunday.
