Erling Haaland will become the first-ever €1 billion player, his agent Rafaela Pimenta says.
Manchester City spent just €58m on the striker’s move this summer.
But when agent fees, bonuses and wages are added, the total transfer fee could be more than €344m.
The Norwegian scored 20 goals in 14 appearances for City, adding to his value.
Real Madrid are still interested in Haaland and when asked how much he thought Haaland would cost, Pimento told Sky Sport Italia: “One billion.”
“Because if you add his football value, image value, and sponsorship value, it’s definitely a billion.
When it comes to “compare”, it’s normal to compare Erling (Haaland) and (Kylian) Mbappe, just to give you an idea of the market.
“I think Erling will be the first player to achieve a transfer of around 1 billion.”
Neymar’s €230 million move from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 remains the highest ever transfer fee for a player.
But that record could be threatened if team-mate Mbappe seeks a move to Real Madrid.
Haaland and Mbappe are set to become world number one heirs to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, unlike Haaland, Mbappe is unhappy with his current club and is said to be open for a €200 million move, with Liverpool and City showing interest.
But the Frenchman is reportedly considering canceling his contract with PSG, which could cost him his chances of becoming the first billion-euro star.
As for Haaland, few teams can pay the package to keep him out of the Etihad, and a €1bn move won’t happen anytime soon.
