Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has reportedly rejected an offer from Bayer Leverkusen to become manager.
New owner Todd Boelhy wants to hire Graham Potter, and the German was fired by Blues in September.
Leverkusen approached Tuchel, but he rejected the offer.
Current manager Gerard Theoane is still hanging on, but the pressure is on as the team is at the bottom of the league, in second place.
According to Sport1, they absolutely must win their next two games, in the Champions League against Porto and in the Bundesliga against Schalke.
Seoane has received public support from general manager Fernando Caro, but he stressed that the club is not caught off guard for a coaching change.
After finishing third in the Bundesliga last season, this season has been disappointing with only five points from eight games.
It is unclear whether the club’s precarious position or Tuchel’s desire to take a break from coaching is the reason behind reports that Leverkusen is “not interested.”
Tuchel, 49, was a man of great stature, winning the Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup with Chelsea before being sacked.

The manager spent about 315 million euros on summer acquisitions, but had very few games to bring in new talent.
But his pedigree is still at a high level when he left for Chelsea after winning two league titles and reaching the Champions League final with Paris Saint-Germain.
Tuchel has not been in charge in his native country for two seasons at Borussia Dortmundafter his first job at Mainz.
Julian Nagelsmann is under pressure at Bayern Munich and is also the subject of rumors of candidacy.
