Retired NASCAR dri­ver Tighe Scott (75) and his son Jar­ret Scott (48) were arrest­ed along­side two oth­er Penn­syl­va­nia men for their alleged roles in the Jan­u­ary 6th, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capi­tol. All four face felony charges relat­ed to assault­ing police dur­ing the Capi­tol riots.

Accord­ing to court doc­u­ments, the Scotts and the Slat­ters, Scott Slater Sr. (56) and Scott Alex Slater Jr. (26), breached restrict­ed Capi­tol grounds and con­front­ed offi­cers try­ing to con­trol the crowd. 

The com­plaint alleges they pushed against police shields, with Jar­ret Scott wield­ing a golf club and Slater Jr. throw­ing objects at officers.

Tighe Scott, a for­mer NASCAR Cup Series dri­ver from the 1970s and 1980s, is charged with two felonies: obstruct­ing law enforce­ment dur­ing a civ­il dis­or­der and assault­ing offi­cers. The Slat­ters also face felony and mis­de­meanor charges.
