LeBron James Ponders Quitting After Lakers’ Playoff Loss

LeBron James, the NBA legend and star forward, is reportedly pondering quitting after the Los Angeles Lakers’ 4–0 defeat to the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals. According to Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes, James is unsure about playing on with the Lakers, with whom he still has two years and $97 million remaining on his deal.

James, who has played 20 seasons in the NBA and won four championships, hinted at quitting after the Lakers’ playoff loss, saying, “I got a lot to think about. Just personally, with me moving forward with the game of basketball, I got a lot to think about.” If he does quit, he would leave the court with the all-time scoring record and the lead for playoff scoring records.

However, quitting at the age of 38 would be surprising for James, given his goal to play with his eldest son, who is soon to join the league. James has previously stated that he wants to play with his son, but he recently said that he would support his son’s choice even if it meant not playing together in the NBA.

James’ future with the Lakers and possible 21st NBA season are now uncertain, with the superstar considering his options during the off-season. Despite the difficulties of the past season, James remains one of the most powerful players in the league and will undoubtedly continue to be a threat if he decides to play on.
