Steph Curry Dominates Olympics, Sparks French McDonald’s Response
NBA superstar Steph Curry’s outstanding performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics has prompted an unexpected reaction from McDonald’s France.
The company has hinted at the possibility of removing its classic curry sauce from the menu, citing “obvious reasons” after Curry’s heroics led the United States to the gold medal against France.
McDonald’s France Contemplates Curry Sauce Removal
Curry’s 24-point effort, including four clutch 3‑pointers in the final three minutes, was the decisive factor in the U.S. team’s victory over France in the gold medal game.
The NBA superstar’s heroics, which broke the hearts of French fans, have now caught the attention of the fast-food giant.
In a social media post, McDonald’s France stated that it was “considering removing this sauce” for a minimum of four years, implying that Curry’s dominant performance was the reason behind the potential menu change.
The Olympic triumph marked the second consecutive summer games in which the U.S. and France faced off in the gold medal game.
U.S. head coach Steve Kerr praised Curry’s performance, stating that the pressure of the occasion never fazed the NBA star.
“I’ve seen that from Steph a few times, but it never gets old,” Kerr said. “It’s a global game with a lot of great players, but we still feel we have the greatest players.
They were all so unselfish throughout this whole thing, through all the noise, all the pressure.”
The Olympic celebration, however, may have been interrupted by a reported incident involving Curry’s wife, Ayesha, and mother, Sonya, who were allegedly involved in a confrontation with French police after the gold medal game.
