NBA leg­end Charles Barkley is hang­ing up his ana­lyst micro­phone. After 24 sea­sons, Barkley announced his retire­ment from TNT’s beloved “Inside the NBA” program. 

The show itself will also con­clude after the 2024–25 sea­son as TNT los­es the NBA broad­cast­ing rights.

Barkley, a for­mer NBA MVP with the Philadel­phia 76ers, became a fix­ture on “Inside the NBA” since 2000. Fans adored his on-screen chem­istry with Shaquille O’Neal, Ernie John­son Jr., and Ken­ny Smith. 

The show won a stag­ger­ing 19 Sports Emmys, solid­i­fy­ing its place as one of the best sports analy­sis pro­grams ever.

In an emo­tion­al state­ment, Barkley expressed his grat­i­tude: “I real­ly love TNT… I want to say thank you to my entire NBA fam­i­ly, I love you guys.” He also con­firmed he won’t be join­ing anoth­er network.

Barkley’s retire­ment marks the end of an era. His can­did analy­sis, wit­ty ban­ter, and larg­er-than-life per­son­al­i­ty will be dear­ly missed. He leaves behind a lega­cy as one of the great­est bas­ket­ball per­son­al­i­ties of all time.
