SerÂeÂna Williams, the 23-time Grand Slam winÂner, has pubÂlicly critÂiÂcized a five-star hotel in Paris for denyÂing her and her chilÂdren access to their rooftop restauÂrant durÂing the 2024 Olympics.
Williams took to social media to express her disÂapÂpointÂment, writÂing: âYikes @peninsulaparis Iâve been denied access to rooftop to eat in a empÂty restauÂrant of nicer places đ« but nevÂer with my kids. Always a first. đ#Olympic2024â.
Hotel Issues Apology
The PeninÂsuÂla Hotel in Paris latÂer issued an apolÂoÂgy to Williams, acknowlÂedgÂing the inciÂdent and proÂvidÂing an explanation.
They statÂed: âDear Mrs. Williams, Please accept our deepÂest apoloÂgies for the disÂapÂpointÂment you encounÂtered tonight.
UnforÂtuÂnateÂly, our rooftop bar was indeed fulÂly booked and the only unocÂcuÂpied tables you saw belonged to our gourmet restauÂrant, LâOiseau Blanc, which was fulÂly reserved.â
The hotel furÂther expressed their regret, sayÂing: âWe have always been honÂored to welÂcome you and will always be to welÂcome you again. The PeninÂsuÂla Paris.â
Williamsâ fans were quick to critÂiÂcize the hotelâs deciÂsion, with one user askÂing, âHow does one get denied when they are SerÂeÂna WilliamsâŠâŠ lolâ.
