Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kristen Louelle Gaffney, 34, and her family are leaving California behind for Nashville, Tennessee. Gaffney, wife of 2‑time Super Bowl champion Tyler Gaffney, has voiced her frustration over California’s homeless crisis and soaring taxes.
The couple, who have three children, decided to relocate due to the escalating cost of living in California, which has contributed to an unsafe environment for raising their family.
Gaffney shared her disillusionment with the state, noting that many come to Los Angeles in pursuit of the American Dream only to be met with an overwhelming homelessness problem.
California’s homeless population, which accounted for 28% of the nation’s total in 2022, was cited as a primary reason for the Gaffneys’ departure. They seek a fresh start in Nashville, as the Golden State continues to grapple with its homelessness and housing affordability challenges.
