Sports Illus­trat­ed swim­suit mod­el Kris­ten Louelle Gaffney, 34, and her fam­i­ly are leav­ing Cal­i­for­nia behind for Nashville, Ten­nessee. Gaffney, wife of 2‑time Super Bowl cham­pi­on Tyler Gaffney, has voiced her frus­tra­tion over Cal­i­for­ni­a’s home­less cri­sis and soar­ing taxes.

The cou­ple, who have three chil­dren, decid­ed to relo­cate due to the esca­lat­ing cost of liv­ing in Cal­i­for­nia, which has con­tributed to an unsafe envi­ron­ment for rais­ing their family. 

Gaffney shared her dis­il­lu­sion­ment with the state, not­ing that many come to Los Ange­les in pur­suit of the Amer­i­can Dream only to be met with an over­whelm­ing home­less­ness problem.

Cal­i­for­ni­a’s home­less pop­u­la­tion, which account­ed for 28% of the nation’s total in 2022, was cit­ed as a pri­ma­ry rea­son for the Gaffneys’ depar­ture. They seek a fresh start in Nashville, as the Gold­en State con­tin­ues to grap­ple with its home­less­ness and hous­ing afford­abil­i­ty challenges.
