During Game 4 of the NBA Playoffs, Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch suffered an injury after colliding with point guard Mike Conley. The incident occurred late in the fourth quarter as the Timberwolves faced the Phoenix Suns.
Conley was fouled by Devin Booker and crashed into Finch while attempting to maintain his balance. The impact resulted in Finch suffering a torn patellar tendon in his right leg. He was helped off the court by medical staff and transported to the locker room on a stretcher.
Despite the unfortunate incident, the Timberwolves managed to secure a 122–116 victory over the Suns, completing a sweep of their first-round series.
This marks the team’s first advancement to the second round of the playoffs since 2004. The Timberwolves will have to navigate the remainder of the postseason without their head coach on the sidelines.
