Huston’s Frustration with Medal Quality

Team USA skateboarder Nyjah Huston made a surprising post on Instagram, expressing his disappointment with the quality of the bronze medal he won at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Huston, a veteran of the X Games and World Championships, noted that the medal started to deteriorate after just a few days of wear.

Deteriorating Condition of the Medal

In his Instagram story, Huston showed the back of the medal, which appeared to be in poor condition.

He also mentioned that the front of the medal had started to show signs of wear and tear, despite being just days old.

Huston’s Perspective on Medal Quality

As an experienced medal winner, Huston was surprised by the poor quality of the Olympic medal.

He stated, “I don’t know, Olympic medals, we gotta step up the quality a little bit.”

Designs and Value of the 2024 Olympic Medals

The medals for the 2024 Paris Olympics were designed by the Paris jewelry house Chaumet and produced by the Paris Mint.

A gold medal was estimated to be worth $1,027, according to Oxford Economics.

Potential Response from the IOC

Huston’s criticism of the medal quality may prompt the International Olympic Committee to address the issue and ensure that future Olympic medals meet the high standards expected by athletes and fans.
