Samsung has a habit of unveiling its new high-end smartphones between February and March. Specifically, the Korean site Digital Daily announces the date of February 8 for the Galaxy S22, as part of the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event. Presales would begin the following day, for availability on February 24.
A video, which has leaked on the Web, shows the exterior appearance of the three smartphones, on non-functional models (dummys). This aspect is very close to that of the current Galaxy S21.
Another leak, mentioned by our colleagues at SamMobile, gives information on the characteristics of the three devices, with a 6.1‑inch Dynamic AMOLED screen and 2340 x 1080 pixels for the S22, which goes to 6.8 inches and 3080 x 1440 pixels for the S22 Ultra. In comparison, the Galaxy S21 has a slightly larger screen (6.2 inches). The S22 + model would have a 6.55-inch screen.
The specs also mention the presence of Gorilla Glass, here called Super Clear Glass, to protect the rear camera module. For the processor, the Exynos 2100 is expected to give way to the Exynos 2200 for Europe (other countries will have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC).
The image above also gives information on the photo part of the S22 Ultra, with a 108 megapixel main sensor with optical stabilization, a 12 megapixel ultra wide angle module and two 10 megapixel modules (x3 and x10). A set very close to that of the Galaxy S21 Ultra that we tested.
