U.S. : Tracking 24-year-old suspect who killed two police officers in Maryland

Police in Mary­land are clos­ing in on a 24-year-old man sus­pect­ed of shoot­ing a Bal­ti­more Coun­ty offi­cer and seri­ous­ly injur­ing a sec­ond offi­cer dur­ing a mul­ti-day search for the killer, police said.

David Emory Linthicum, who shot and killed a police offi­cer in Bal­ti­more Coun­ty, has been on the run since Wednes­day, with the inci­dent spark­ing an exten­sive search and the evac­u­a­tion of locals, coun­ty offi­cials and police said.

Bal­ti­more Coun­ty Police received a call about a per­son in crit­i­cal con­di­tion in Cock­eysville, about 20 miles north of Bal­ti­more, and began search­ing around 2:30 p.m. ET Wednes­day, the Bal­ti­more Coun­ty gov­ern­ment said. said in a statement.
