Josie Barnes, 27, took part in the debate on the JereÂmy Vine show as they disÂcussed whether it was rude to critÂiÂcize peoÂpleâs choice of baby names.
She had named her sevÂen month old son Lucifer and also has a six year old daughÂter with six midÂdle names.
The PlyÂmouth mothÂer-of-two said Lucifer came to her mind once.
She told PlyÂmouth Live: âThere was no inspiÂraÂtion for the name. I have looked at a lot of baby books and I like unusuÂal names. I donât like havÂing stanÂdard names.
âI assumed I had a daughÂter so I chose a girlâs name because we are a very female domÂiÂnatÂed famÂiÂly â I was going to call her NarÂnia, but I found out that I had a boy.
âI like names that I like, it may not be right for othÂer peoÂple. When I chose his name, I knew peoÂple wouldÂnât like him, but itâs not theirs to decide.
Josie King, who named her son Lucifer, has been critÂiÂcized for the name choice by many netizens
The mum-of-two has been called into a debate on the JereÂmy Vine show about baby names.
âI had a few famÂiÂly memÂbers who said âyou canât call it thatâ, but I said Iâm not reliÂgious so it doesÂnât repÂreÂsent what othÂer peoÂple think it represents.
âBut my dad knows how I am and how I love being unique, so he said it looks like you.â
Josie says she has received a lot of hateÂful comÂments since appearÂing on TV, but has also received a lot of supÂportÂive mesÂsages from peoÂple who also like her sonâs name.
She said: âI have had a lot of hate ever since I was on JereÂmy Vine but it still doesÂnât change my opinÂion, I donât regret choosÂing that name.
âIâve had mesÂsages all day. I hadÂnât realÂized that an impulse phone call to ChanÂnel 5 would end up getÂting so many.
âI think peoÂple have a right to have an opinÂion â itâs mostÂly the oldÂer genÂerÂaÂtion who donât like it.
âI love the name because I love it, I donât think it repÂreÂsents the devÂil to me.
âIf the devÂil was called anyÂthing else, you wouldÂnât like that name either. Itâs about the mindÂset of peoÂple with the name.
âPeoÂple have asked me why, but I say why not?
