Elvis’ daughter Lisa Marie Presley dies at 54

Lisa Marie Pres­ley, the only daugh­ter of rock and roll leg­end Elvis, has died at the age of 54, her moth­er has announced.

“It is with heavy hearts that I have to share the trag­ic news that my beau­ti­ful daugh­ter, Lisa Marie, has left us,” she said.

Singer Lisa Marie was tak­en to hos­pi­tal ear­ly Thurs­day morn­ing. US media reports said she had a car­diac arrest.

She was found uncon­scious at her home in Cal­abasas, Calif., a source told TMZ.

“She was the most pas­sion­ate, strong, and lov­ing woman I have ever known,” said Priscil­la Pres­ley in her statement.

“As we deal with this pro­found loss, we ask that you respect our privacy.”

Her moth­er did not elab­o­rate on the pos­si­ble cause of her death.

Cit­ing a source close to Lisa Marie Pres­ley, TMZ reports that the star was found unre­spon­sive in her bed­room Thurs­day morn­ing. At about the same time, her ex-hus­band, Dan­ny Kyo, who lives on the same prop­er­ty, arrived and start­ed CPR.

Accord­ing to the news, she went into “com­plete stop­page” and her pass­er-by admin­is­tered epi­neph­rine (com­mon­ly known as adren­a­line) to restore her pulse.

Para­medics soon arrived and Pres­ley was tak­en to hospital.

Imme­di­ate­ly after hear­ing the news of her death, con­do­lences poured in from all over the Unit­ed States.

Gram­my Award win­ner Diane War­ren expressed her sad­ness at the “ter­ri­fy­ing news.” The singer added, “The whole world is send­ing love and prayers to Priscil­la and Lisa Marie’s chil­dren right now.”

Beach Boys co-founder Bri­an Wil­son said, “It’s hard to accept the pass­ing of some­one so young and full of life.”

Oscar-win­ning actress Mar­lee Matlin wrote on Twit­ter, “I had the chance to meet Shi­ra Pres­ley when she was on ‘Danc­ing with the Stars,’ but as a moth­er, it’s too ear­ly for Lisa Marie. I can’t imag­ine the pain you would be going through in death,” he wrote.

She was born in 1968. Fol­low­ing in her father’s foot­steps, she pur­sues her musi­cal career. Her star has released three albums and her 2003 debut stu­dio album sold hun­dreds of thou­sands and was gen­er­al­ly well received by her.

The star is also known for hav­ing been mar­ried to pop leg­end Michael Jack­son, actor Nico­las Cage, musi­cian Dan­ny Kyo and Michael Lockwood.

She has four chil­dren, includ­ing actress Riley Keough. Pres­ley’s son Ben­jamin Kyo com­mit­ted sui­cide in 2020.

Pres­ley’s last pub­lic appear­ance was at the Gold­en Globe Awards in Bev­er­ly Hills on Tues­day night.

The cou­ple were seen break­ing down in tears with her moth­er as she watched Austin But­ler, who played her father, win Best Actor.
