Real Madrid could be withÂout boss CarÂlo AncelotÂti for their ChamÂpiÂons League quarÂter-final tie against Chelsea.
ForÂmer Chelsea boss AncelotÂti, 62, has been missÂing from the Los BlanÂcosâ dugout since testÂing for posÂiÂtive for Covid six days ago.
The posÂiÂtive test meant Real had to take on Celta Vigo in AncelotÂtiâs absence on Saturday.
It was busiÂness as usuÂal for the SpanÂish titans who cruised to a 2â1 vicÂtoÂry against their oppoÂnents with AncelotÂtiâs son Davide in charge for the game, although he couldÂnât dish out orders due to not havÂing the required licence.
And he was required to remain seatÂed on the bench throughÂout the game.
But Davide found a way to make things work, as he was spotÂted comÂmuÂniÂcatÂing with dad AncelotÂti using a headset.
It was Realâs goalÂkeepÂer coach Luis LlopÂis who then barked the instrucÂtions from the techÂniÂcal area.
But AncelotÂtiâs yet to return to his duties since then and has missed the last FOUR of Realâs trainÂing sesÂsions as he hasÂnât recovÂered from the illÂness, accordÂing to AS.
And on the eve of Realâs first-leg tie against Chelsea on WednesÂday, it still isnât clear if AncelotÂti will be makÂing the trip to LonÂdon folÂlowÂing his posÂiÂtive test on Sunday.
The report states that although he feels fine, AncelotÂtiâs still waitÂing on the results of a negÂaÂtive test before he can travÂel with his squad.
If AncelotÂti doesÂnât recovÂer in time, it will be upto son Davide and goalÂkeepÂing coach Luis LlopÂis, along with club coach AbiÂan PerÂdoÂmo, to guide Realâs vast array of stars.
But it remains to be seen if the trio have the tacÂtiÂcal nous to overÂcome the might of the Blues and boss Thomas Tuchel.
EspeÂcialÂly as Real have failed to win any comÂpetÂiÂtive matchÂes against Chelsea.
HowÂevÂer, the SpanÂish titans will have received a major boost going into the game after witÂnessÂing the Blues crumÂble against BrentÂford on Saturday.
The Bluesâ stars were a no-show as the Bees romped to a 4â1 vicÂtoÂry in a game that saw ChrisÂtÂian ErikÂsen score his first goal for the club since joinÂing them in JanÂuÂary folÂlowÂing his heart scare last year.
