Conor McGregor’s return to the Octagon is likely not far away according to UFC President Dana White, who told TMZ Sports he expects the Irish superstar to fight this summer.
TMZ recently asked White … do you think Conor will fight this year after recovering from the devastating injury.
“I think so,” Dana told us. “He’s doing everything right with his leg. Hopefully he can come back this summer.”
Of course, the 33-year-old McGregor hasn’t set foot in the cage competing since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in July 2021.
Conor is currently ranked 9th in the UFC lightweight division…behind fighters like champion Charles Oliveira, Justin Gaethje, Poirier, Michael Chandler and Tony Ferguson, to name a few.
We also spoke to the big, barn-burning UFC boss about a fight between Calvin Kattar and Giga Chikadze… a fight that Boston’s No. 5‑ranked forward won by unanimous decision.
So what’s next for Kattar? Dana doesn’t know it yet, but clarifies that Calvin is in a privileged position.
“Winning massively for him. Coming out of that Holloway fight which was amazing and now he’s winning this fight against Giga. He’s in a good position. He’s in a really good position, so we’ll see here.”
