Arsenal are reportedly ready to sign Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic on loan later this month.
The Gunners are closing in on January’s No. 1 target, Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mihailo Mudrik.
But Mikel Arteta is also looking for depth in midfield ahead of a challenging second half of the season with the Premiership, FA Cup and Europa League.
The Gunners have failed to sign Douglas Lewis from Aston Villa and he has already signed a new contract.
This seems to suggest that Arteta still wants to sign the central midfielder.
And TuttoJuve sees Milinkovic-Savic could be that kind of guy.
The Lazio ace is out of contract in the summer of 2024 but could leave the Italian capital later this month.
The forward has long been admired by Premier League clubs for his performances in Serie A, with Arsenal and Manchester United making moves in the past.
However, Lazio have reportedly reached the limit of their patience with his contract situation and he could be forced to cash out.
As a result, the Serie A giant will agree to a six-month rental deal with an obligation to buy it for €49m in the summer.
He is a 27-year-old who has played in 22 games this season with 5 goals and 7 assists.
His all-time record for Lazio is 121 goals in 316 appearances, an unusual number for a midfielder.
