Frank Lampard has been sacked as Everton manager after less than a year.
He replaced Rafa Benitez as Chelsea manager last January but failed to stop the corruption at Goodison Park.
A 2–0 defeat to relegation rivals West Ham on Saturday (3–2) was the final straw.
Former Burnley manager Sean Diche and former Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa are two of the most likely replacements for the legendary Chelsea boss.
Everton legend Wayne Rooney and former West Ham manager David Moyes are also being considered.
The Toffees are at the bottom of the Premier League table after losing to the Hammers, although they are two points safe.
“It’s not my decision. My job is to work, stay focused and keep my head down,” a disheartened Lampard said after the game about his future.
I have confidence in “how I want to train”. I know there are difficult conditions.
“I just do my job and talk about the things I can influence, which are the players trying to do the right thing.
Lampard also reportedly got into a brawl with his own players.
Midfielder Abdullah Dukur has been forced to train alone.
Lampard’s tenure at Merseyside got off to a brilliant start with a 4–1 win over Brentford in the FA Cup.
They then lost 3–1 to Newcastle, but bounced back with a 3–0 win at home to Leeds.
However, the team then suffered a three-game losing streak in the Premier League, including an FA Cup victory over Borehamwood and a crushing 5–0 defeat to Tottenham in the Top League.
A loss to Wolves at Goodison extended a five-game losing streak in the Premiership, but a 1–0 win at home to Newcastle gave them a brief respite.
Despite his best efforts, Lampard could not destabilize Toffee.
The loss at London Stadium meant the Merseyside side had won just one of their last 12 league games.
Everton have scored just 15 out of 60 this season.
The Toffees face a difficult situation as they welcome league leaders Arsenal to Goodison in two weeks’ time.
And the next week, we will have another thrilling battle with arch-enemies Liverpool at Stanley Park.
