Welsh supermarkets, which participated in the World Cup for the first time in 64 years, will sell GARETH BALE brand beer.
The 33-year-old former Tottenham and Real Madrid star helped Rob Page’s side reach Qatar earlier this year.
In the World Cup, which will be their first appearance since the 1958 tournament, they will face England, Iran and the United States in the group stage.
As a token of this historic achievement, Welsh fans will be able to celebrate the match with a glass of Veil Ale or Veil Lager.
Both products will be available at Tesco shops in Wales from 3rd October for £1.70.
The national team captain, Bale, plans to donate a portion of the beer’s proceeds to the development of grassroots football in his country.
Launching Bale Ale and Bale Lager in Tesco shops in Wales is something we started a few years ago and it’s really exciting to see the brand grow,” he told PA.
“Partnering with and working with Glamorgan Brewing Co, which is just 10 minutes from my home, is even more special and I am extremely proud of what we have created together.
Through this partnership, we aim to give back to grassroots football in Wales, and in particular to help develop football facilities across Wales at the regional level.”
“We hope fans across Wales will enjoy our veil ales and lagers heading into this year’s World Cup.”
The availability of veal beer in other parts of the UK outside of Wales has yet to be determined.
However, in 2023, there are plans to export to California, where the player currently belongs to Los Angeles FC.
Veil Ale is described as a “bright and refreshing golden ale” brewed using Goldings, Columbus and Citra hops.
Veil Lager, on the other hand, is described as having a “fresh, clean taste” brewed with Saaz hops.
