The BrazilÂian FootÂball FedÂerÂaÂtion has denied a report by ESPN Brazil that Real Madrid manÂagÂer CarÂlo AncelotÂti has been appointÂed as the new coach of the BrazilÂian menâs nationÂal team.
Brazil were lookÂing to replace Tite, who left after DecemÂberâs Qatar World Cup quarÂter-final defeat to Croatia.
An expeÂriÂenced Real Madrid coach from 2021, AncelotÂti has manÂaged clubs such as JuvenÂtus, AC Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint-GerÂmain and BayÂern Munich in his 28-year career.
AccordÂing to ESPN Brazil jourÂnalÂist Bruno VicÂari, the ItalÂian has givÂen the go-ahead to coach Brazil in his first interÂnaÂtionÂal match this summer.
Although no forÂmal agreeÂment has been reached, AncelotÂti is said to have respondÂed posÂiÂtiveÂly to the CBFâs interest.
âThe BrazilÂian FootÂball FedÂerÂaÂtion (CBF) affirms that the news reportÂed on FriÂday that Real Madrid coach CarÂlo AncelotÂti (Italy) has been appointÂed as the new coach of the BrazilÂian nationÂal team is groundÂless,â said the CBF.
âPresÂiÂdent EdnarÂdo Rodriguez endorsÂes his stateÂment after the draw of the Copa del Rey on WednesÂday, in which he said: âThe matÂter will be dealt with transÂparÂentÂly and the selectÂed coach will be announced at the approÂpriÂate time.
AncelotÂti coached Madrid in the ChamÂpiÂons League and La Liga last seaÂson and is curÂrentÂly secÂond in La Liga, eight points behind leadÂers Barcelona, who will face Al Hilal in the Club World Cup final on Saturday.
MulÂtiÂple sources have told that AncelotÂti is the fronÂtrunÂner to replace Tite.
HowÂevÂer, sources close to the manÂagÂer insist that he is hapÂpy with Madrid, who have a conÂtract until 2024.
A Real Madrid source told ESPN they were not aware of any plans for the manÂagÂer to leave this summer.
âNo, I donât know,â AncelotÂti replied. The âsitÂuÂaÂtionâ is very clear. The conÂtract is until 2024. â
With his eyes on the Club World Cup final, AncelotÂti said the vicÂtoÂry could be the catÂaÂlyst for the rest of the seaÂson for Real Madrid.
âA key moment at this stage.â âFebÂruÂary and March will be the final match of the seaÂson, so Iâm here as usuÂal. You look fine and weâre startÂing with the Club World Cup final.â
The La Liga chamÂpiÂons lost their final final, the SpanÂish Super Cup, to Barça 3â1 on 15 JanÂuÂary and MalÂlorÂca 1â0 last Saturday.
âThis final can give us momenÂtum for the rest of the seaÂson,â said AncelotÂti. âWe can be more conÂfiÂdent going into the games ahead. The team is already conÂfiÂdent, but the Super Cup defeats against Barcelona and MalÂlorÂca have takÂen their toll. A great seaÂson like last seaÂson. I believe we can do it.â
